When will I learn it's NOT all about me ?
CHRISTmas gift suggestions: To your enemy, forgiveness. To an opponent, tolerance. To a friend, your heart. To a customer, service. To all, charity. To every child, a good example. To yourself, respect.
I copied this and and pasted it from someone on face book and wanted to share. it thought is was so good. Christmas is about giving but there are so many things we can give, it doesn't just have to be material things. We can give forgiveness, and passion, and love. We can give of our time.
I stood in Hobby Lobby the other day in the very long line that seemed to never end and I turned around to an elderly lady behind me, crumpled over probably with arthritis in her back, I don't know her story but she looked fragile and she had only a few things in her basket and so I asked her if she would like to go ahead of me and she was grateful and all of a sudden it felt like Christmas to me. This is what Christmas is about, GIVING. We forget and tend to think it is about money but it really is not, it is about giving of yourself.
I love Matthew 25 where it says in the Bible that just as the shepherd separates the goats from the sheep so shall he separate the righteous from the unrighteous. He said if you have done it to these then you have done it as unto me. So it is very important the way we treat people.
When I can look at them and see Jesus and do these things as unto Jesus , then in return they can look back at me and see Jesus.
My prayer is for the Lord to make me a reflection of him, to help me on this pilgrims journey and to forgive the way he did and to love the way he did. Sometimes it seems impossible but then I remember the scripture "Greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world and then I know I can do ALL things through him because he strengthens me and he would not put more on me than I could bear. So when it seems impossible because people are impossible we need to remember that it is not.
It is his commandment that we love one another and if we are following him then we have no choice but to do so.
If we say we are an apple tree then we need to produce apples. I want to be real and to please the Lord, now more than ever! I am excited about the New upcoming year to see what the Lord has in store for us on our journey. You never know where these long winding roads are going to lead but as long as I am following him, I know I can make it to my destination.
I hope everyone feels happy, warm and peaceful and loved. God is so good! With him we should be glowing and beaming with joy! I feel that in my heart and for that I am grateful.
