I love this song below. It says, "one can get so thirsty for one drop of mercy but all you'll find are bones where someone else has died" But God is our oasis. I love the Hinsons and I love my Pentecostal Heritage. Where would I be if not for his Mercy and grace? God has been so faithful!
I'm excited about things that are going on in our lives :) Our church has been on a 40 day fast and each week we give up something for the Lord. We must decrease so he can increase and Lord knows that there is a whole lot of me that needs to decrease! First week we fasted from 6a.m. to 6 p.m. the second week was no media, Face book, t.v., radio etc. (boy that was a challenge) and the next week will be something that means a lot to you and then the last week will be no meats. We have also been setting aside special prayer time and having prayer meetings. It is amazing how you feel so much closer to God when you give him your full attention. I'm excited also for what the Lord is doing in the lives of our boys. We are having special time with them on Friday nights and just to sit and talk with your teens is life changing, it makes us more aware of what they are going through and they are enjoying their time with us as well. Our Pastors at Church have 2 teen boys the same ages as our boys and they encourage me with the way they are with their boys. Their kids are right there in Church with them EVERY service, they don't take jobs on Church services because the house of God comes first, what an example for me and Ronnie to follow. The thing about it is that their kids love the Lord and love being in his presence. I want the same for my kids. I want to lead by example. I don't know how people make it without the Lord. I find myself just wanting to share all of these experiences with everyone. I was telling my Aunt that the best thing in life is FREE. God gives us a place to worship and find him and his peace but we have to put one foot in front of the other and go. I encourage everyone to attend Church this Sunday morning. Wherever you are comfortable. We have to find our place in God. I have found mine and I feel blessed. We need to let our blessings roll off of our tongues by calling them out. I am blessed to be saved, to have my parents living, to have a husband like Ronnie who is a man of God and takes care of his family, I am blessed to have my kids and grand baby and they are all healthy! I am so blessed that I can hear and see.
We are blessed that we have access to the word of God and the freedom to worship. We don't have any room for complaining. We are the Children of God and we are blessed!!!
My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever. |
Psa 145:5 | I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works. |
