Getting Healthy

I am glad to say that we are getting healthy and it feels good! Not only naturally but spiritually also. The key is to be balanced in every area. we went grocery shopping and bought bananas, tomatoes, grapes, peaches, cantaloupe, potatoes, carrots, yogurt, low fat milk, water bottles, high fiber cereal, and healthy choice dinners for when we are on the go. We have also added exercise, as a family we are taking 25-30 minute walks and going to try to work up to 45 minutes. Our body is the temple of Christ and when we stop and think of what we put into it....... mostly junk. Donuts, candy bars, ice cream, fried foods before you now it, we start feeling weighed down. So far this is working for us. Ryan has lost a total of 20 pounds and Ronnie and lost around 12. Even when we go out, we are making healthy selections., You can still enjoy good food and be healthy. If you too are wanting to make healthy life changing choices, my advice would be to stock up on the fruits and vegetable that you do enjoy. If you try to make yourself eat things you don't like then chances are, it won't last. We are excited about these changes and it has helped Ryan's self esteem so much. God wants us to be healthy and happy people. Hey I may not be able to control these wrinkles that are creeping up on me, but I can control my weight :)

I got these Sketcher shape ups at Kohl's. They are suppose to help burn calories and tone you up. I can feel them working when I wear them. I am not at all a tennis shoe kind of girl, but they are nice to have for our walks. :)
