Blown Out Wedding Dresses Ughhhhhhhh!

Okay so this is a pet peeve of mine. Why have a beautiful wedding gown if your photographer is not going to be able to capture the detail of the dress. Now this is very tricky and you have to know where to put the Bride, time of day, when to use a flash and when not to use a flash etc. etc. If your photography is important to you then you should make a note of portfolios when searching for a wedding photographer. I have seen a lot of "blown out" (also known as over exposed) dresses lately and it is not good. High contrast is cool and cute on certain pictures( such as below) but not so much on Bridal Portraits and wedding portraits. Beware of this. It is an art and we as photographers have to know when to use it and when not to use it. Just something to think about :)
